One of the unique features the BIG 5 is the seating position. When you ride in a BIG 5 you'll immediately notice a better view from this unique upright seating position. Our upright seating was originally implemented to provide more leg room while achieving a shorter wheelbase, plus it moves the passenger weight bias forward. We knew that these changes would significantly change the weight distribution, provide quicker turning, and ultimately make the car handle better for pure duning. Once it was tested we discovered that not only was the car incredibly more nimble, but it was much more comfortable.... a side benefit we didn't expect. It's really funny how something like seat position can make such a BIG difference in the overall performance of a sandcar. Here's the list of advantages for upright seating:
Funco offers many options in seat materials and color for the Beards seats. Beard’s traditional fabric and traditional naugahyde materials are the most durable and fade resistant, standard at no extra cost in our B kits and turn-key cars. Other materials are offered at a slight extra charge. You can check out all the options at the Beard Seating website (RedArt Corp). Other seat manufacturers are available upon request. The standard seating configuration in Funco's KIT B and Turn-Key cars includes 2 Beard Super Street buckets seats and a 53" bench in the rear This configuration can seat 5 people very nicely. For the same price you can opt for 4 full size "Street AT" seats, two in front and two in rear, providing room for 4. But if you opt for 4 buckets you will want the optional center console between the rear seats, providing even more storage while filling the space between the seats. |
